about
This is the Deluge slow jam. It is written about a special lady friend that a certain band member had before he left to go on a trip in the southern hemisphere. He was spending the last few nights before leaving to go south in a lonely hotel room in Florida and the lyrics "I miss you like hell, in American hotels" came into his head. The rest is as they say it, history.
lyrics
I kissed your lips again
In that front hallway of yours
And I said the words
That’d leave me, wanting, more…
And I kissed your lips,
In that front hallway of yours; can you blame me?
Can you blame me?
And I said the words,
That’d leave me broken and sore,
And I’m a lonely ship wrecked vessel on your, lonely shore…
And I kissed your lips again, in that front hallway of yours,
Can you blame me?
Can you blame me?
I missed you like hell,
In American hotels, and I can’t get through these nights here.
Yeah.
And I’d walk a thousand miles,
To see a smile like yours,
And I’d grab the hands of time and I’d say,
Come on… let’s go!
And I kissed your lips,
In that front hallway of yours; can you blame me?
Can you blame me?
And I’d make it work,
And I’d give it everything I can,
And I’m going to come back from this a better man…
And I kissed your lips,
In that front hallway of yours can you blame me?
Can you blame me?
I missed you like hell,
In American hotels, and I can’t get through these nights here.
Yeah.
And I will, and I can, and I will, yeah.
(I missed you like hell)
I missed you like hell,
In American hotels, and I can’t get through these nights here.
Yeah yeah yeah.
